Checking the Progress of Your Degree

Here are some steps you can take to check if you are on track with your program:

  • Identify which pathway you should be following.
  • Check which units you have passed already (you can do this via Student Connect) against your particular pathway.

Minor variations and quite common, so keep track of the core units and the number of points you have.

Very occasionally, students who do not follow the prescribed pathway might run into a problem with pre-requisitves. If in doubt, check the handbook; the pre- and co-requisites for each unit are listed under "Unit Rules".

Also check the Faculty of Law Rules. For example, students in most combined courses need to do at least two units from Group B while those in the Graduate program only have to do one; those in the 4 year degree need to do two, but one can be a non-law unit (rule 7.2.2b) This is the place to check other rules about credits and overloads too.  Please note that students combining Law with Health Science or Engineering have slightly different requirements to students in other combined courses.

If you complete all these checks and still have a concern about your progress, you can make an appointment to see either the FAO or the Associate Dean.
