OutcomesStudents are able to (1) analyse the processes by which a contract can be terminated or rescinded; (2) analyse the rights and obligations created by termination and rescission of contract; (3) solve problems relating to the enforcement of such rights; (4) express ideas coherently and logically in a written form; and (5) critically reflect on the application of theory and policy considerations to contract law.
 
ContentThis unit covers the principles relating to the discharge of contract and remedies for breach. Topics include discharge by agreement; discharge for breach; frustration; damages; misrepresentation; and misleading or deceptive conduct.
 
AssessmentStudents are required to complete an assignment and a final examination.

Supplementary assessment is not available in this unit except in the case of a bachelor's pass degree student who has obtained a mark of 45 to 49 and is currently enrolled in this unit, and it is the only remaining unit that the student must pass in order to complete their course.
